چکیده

Efficient depolymerization of C–O linkages is essential for converting lignin into fuels and higher value-added chemicals. In this work, CoRuP/SiO2, an amorphous Ru-Co phosphide composite, was fabricated the efficient hydrogenolysis ether linkages. The 4–O–5 α–O–4 containing lignin-related compounds, such as diphenyl ether, benzyl phenyl 3-methyl dibenzyl are selected representatives in lignin. Under mild conditions, Ru-containing metallic phosphides have high-performance catalytic Compared with other catalysts, CoRuP/SiO2 shows outstanding selectivity benzene excellent efficiency depolymerizing ethers, yielding only a small amount by-products. Lignin Hydrogenolysis: Improving Lignin Disassembly through Formaldehyde Stabilization

Lignocellulosic biomass is available in large quantities and constitutes an attractive feedstock for the sustainable production of bulk and fine chemicals. Although methods have been established for the conversion of its cellulosic fractions, valorization of lignin has proven to be challenging. The difficulty in disassembling lignin originates from its heterogeneous structure and its propensity...

Review on Catalytic Cleavage of C–C Inter-unit Linkages in Lignin Model Compounds: Towards Lignin Depolymerisation

Lignin depolymerisation has received considerable attention recently due to the pressing need to find sustainable alternatives to fossil fuel feedstock to produce chemicals and fuels. Two types of interunit linkages (C–C and C–O linkages) link several aromatic units in the structure of lignin. Between these two inter-unit linkages, the bond energies of C–C linkages are higher than that of C–O l...

Single-catalyst high-weight% hydrogen storage in an N-heterocycle synthesized from lignin hydrogenolysis products and ammonia

Large-scale energy storage and the utilization of biomass as a sustainable carbon source are global challenges of this century. The reversible storage of hydrogen covalently bound in chemical compounds is a particularly promising energy storage technology. For this, compounds that can be sustainably synthesized and that permit high-weight% hydrogen storage would be highly desirable. Herein, we ...

Kraft Lignin Depolymerization in an Ionic Liquid without a Catalyst

In this paper, the depolymerization of lignin was successfully achieved by the thermal treatment of kraft lignin in butyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec7-enium chloride ([DBUC4][Cl]) without a catalyst. The thermal treatment experiments were performed in an oven at 150, 200, and 250 °C for 1 h. The changes in kraft lignin structure over the course of depolymerization were characterized by gel per...

Degradation of Hydrocarbons and Lignin-like compounds by Alcaligenes sp. strain 3k isolated from Ilorin

The primary goal of this study was to isolate hydrocarbon-degrading organisms and assess their ability to bioremediate petroleum-contaminated soil and water. Nigeria is one of the major oil producing countries and petroleum contamination is widespread in agricultural soil. Alcaligenes sp. strain 3k was isolated from a kerosene-polluted soil in Ilorin, Nigeria. We also assessed its ability to de...
